Tomorrow will mark the first day of our new surfing life at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica. “Linda Mar is a mile-long stretch of beach between the north point and Pedro Point – Surfline“. Having never surfed in Nor Cal I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s like to surf in the cold water.

Up to this point my wife and I have only surfed the south shore of Oahu. A few weeks ago we had five lessons at Ala Moana Beach Park with a company named “Girls Who Surf”. BTW, as it turned out we had male instructors two of the five days.

The water was warm and because there was a south swell the white water was awesome. We did pretty well for our first surf instruction. We both stood up the first day, with help we caught waves by ourselves on the second, and paddled into our own waves on the the third. Hawaii was great but now it’s time the face our new reality which is Northern California.

Tomorrow we’re starting a two day surfing clinic with Adventure Out. A friend of ours used to be an instructor there so they seemed to be a great choice.
