Surfing Linda Mar August 27, 2009

Wow, it was sunny today at Linda Mar! While the waves were small at 2 to 3 feet the sun made all of the difference. In fact, we were so hot the sweat made it hard to get our wetsuits on.

Beyond the great weather was the surf itself. Most everything was closing out today except a few rideable corners. We’re really considering trying to find another break. We can both catch whitewater waves and drive straight into the beach almost every time. However, we have yet to catch any good rights or lefts at Linda Mar. Half Moon Bay Jetty has a great wave, but it’s a little too far for us on a regular basis.
We may try to do a lesson soon to help us start catching some of those awesome shoulders.
Surfline surf report for this afternoon – Conditions are deteriorating this afternoon with onshore flow and the tide on the rise. Our Southern Hemi energy is holding while NW swell drops out, good for knee-waist-chest high surf for better breaks and some plus sets for standouts. There are still some managable corners making it through at most breaks. Buoys reading 2ft @ 15sec. The winds were WNW @ 1 – 2kts.
