Surfing Linda Mar September 4, 2009

Had another sunny surf session at Linda Mar today. The big news today is Emily got a new board. She got a 7′ 3″ 7S Super Fish XL.
Low tide was on, and we only had about 25 minutes to surf, but Em got up on two short wave the first day. She had some issues adjusting to the new size, but she’s looking forward to some longer sessions with a building NW swell over the next few days.
I’m not sure why, but this was the first day I’ve ever surfed where I caught no waves. I still had a lot of fun though – sometimes I love just being in the water, and paddling around. After all, being in the pacific ocean on your board, with your wife is a very euphoric feeling.
Surfline surf report for this afternoon – Small, sloppy mix of SW swell and NW windswell continues this afternoon. Most breaks are under knee high, with a few weak knee-waist high waves making it through standouts. Onshore flow is on the rise, putting a decent bump/texture to the surface, making for poor conditions overall. Buoys reading 4ft @ 7sec. The winds were NW @ 8kts.
