Even though we’ve been together for 17 years today was our 1st wedding anniversary, international surfing day and fathers day. This all made for an awesome, and very special surf session. Plus we had a windy, but beautifully sunny day at Half Moon Bay.

On top of everything else this was my best day surfing on my shortboard. Things really started to click today. Once again, I was just hanging on the outside of the whitewater, however, I caught and stood up on several waves for a significant time. I even caught two waves that Emily and I were both standing on at the same time. Super stoked! At this stage in the shortboard game even small steps seem huge. Also, we met another JT surfer today that we had seen several times recently. Nice to meet you Janice!

Regional Summary: NW windswell and small, mid-period NW(295-300+) energy combine with S(170-190) and SW(230-240) groundswells for waist-head high surf this morning. Top spots occasionally go slightly overhead on the better sets. However, conditions are generally mixed-up and bumpy, and shape stays soft with the full tide.
