Digg To Launch New Content Visualization Model in July 2006

To keep up with the latest developments with Digg join Diggnation

In the last year I've seen many amazing new content visualization models, however, Digg will be launching something truly amazing in July. After being a web application designer for more than eleven years I almost became verklempt watching the latest version of DiggNation. The new features show incoming links in real time, but unlike Digg Spy the incoming posts and comments are shown on a real time visualization map. You can use a slider to show more or less content per page, and in one view real time diggs come in an cluster around a post. This is not only impressive, but possible revolutionary. Thanks to Digg and stamen design for producing such a great new visualization model!

This could maybe get data visualization in the main stream? For “democratic” sites like Digg this really could benefit users because they can “rank” data very easily. Anyway, kind of cool that they keep on innovating and trying new stuff out.

I have used Musicovery while it lasted and it was a great way to “visualize” music - or at least to browse it. I REALLY liked the interface - it was a lot better than the standard way. Would be cool if Apple incorporated something similar in iTunes. Imagine the interface they could do and the integration with the music store…

I don’t understand what this is all about. Can some kindly further explain what is shown?

@sacca - Been there with the gas station egg salad problem. I'm vegan now, but I would still consider those tasty sandwiches a weakness. :)
