Mapjack - Street View Mapping Visualization "Mapjack.com showcases a new level of mapping technology. What others have done with NASA budgets and Star Wars-like equipment, we've done on a shoestring budget, along with a few trips to Radio Shack. Specifically, we developed an array of proprietary electronics, hardware and software tools that enable us to capture an entire city's streets with relative ease and excellent image quality. We have a complete low-cost scalable system encompassing the entire work-flow process needed for Immersive Street-Side Imagery, from picture gathering to post-processing to assembling on a Website."

MIT Reality Mining Visualization "Reality Mining defines the collection of machine-sensed environmental data pertaining to human social behavior. This new paradigm of data mining makes possible the modeling of conversation context, proximity sensing, and temporospatial location throughout large communities of individuals. Mobile phones (and similarly innocuous devices) are used for data collection, opening social network analysis to new methods of empirical stochastic modeling."

Visual Understanding Environment
At its core, the Visual Understanding Environment (VUE) is a concept and content mapping application, developed to support teaching, learning and research and for anyone who needs to organize, contextualize, and access digital information. CommunityWalk - Ruby and AJAX Powered Social Mapping Site I once again have to caveat this post by saying my company, Ideacodes, which includes myself and Emily Chang (eHub) produced most of the front-end interaction design for CommunityWalk. For that reason, instead of commenting on the wonderful design smile I'll focus on highlighting some of my favorite UI features. The front page has a row of AJAX powered tabs to let you view popular, recently uploaded and example maps inline, and a great live search. I find the explore page one of the most fascinating aspects to the site. The tags at the top of the page are community generated and allow you to view maps worldwide by interest. I also love the new zoom feature that allows you to zoom in on a map by clicking on it and zoom out by right clicking. These are just a few of the intuitive user interface features found on CommunityWalk. After you view the demo I would like to invite you to visit the CommunityWalk website and give it a try.

@sacca - Been there with the gas station egg salad problem. I'm vegan now, but I would still consider those tasty sandwiches a weakness. :)
